Find dives near a temperature
1
Open the logbook tab
Open Zenfinder and tap logbook in the switch at the top (it opens here). See Zenfinder.
2
Set the water temperature
Under water, use the minus and plus buttons beside water temp to set today’s water.
3
Read the count
The line under the stepper says how many dives fall in the window, for example “3 dives between 24 °C and 28 °C”.
What a dive tile shows
Each matching dive appears under my dives as one tile:- The top line: the dive site (or the location, if there’s no site), and the dive number and date.
- The figures: the water temperature, the suit from the dive’s wetsuit field, and the belt weight. The temperature and belt weight follow the units toggle. A belt weight logged before the logbook recorded units is shown as stored, with no unit.
- The verdicts: what you chose for warmth felt and weighting felt when you logged the dive, such as cold or heavy. A dive with no verdict shows no chip.
Dives saved before the logbook stopped choosing zen for you can show warmth · zen or weight · zen whether or not you picked it. Zenfinder shows these faintly and never uses them to change an answer.
See what you wore on a dive
If you filled in the dive’s equipment page, the tile has a kit pill. Tap it to see that dive’s equipment in a sheet, titled with the dive number, grouped as exposure protection, basics, life support and extras. Items you ticked are highlighted; the rest are faded and struck through. The sheet has its own use this dive button. See Gear used on a dive.Use this dive
use this dive starts the weight tab from that dive. It works as a blank slate plus the dive:1
Tap use this dive
Tap use this dive on the tile, or in the kit sheet.
2
Review the weight tab
Zenfinder moves to the weight tab. A note under the estimate says what came from the dive, for example “from dive #142: water temp, water type, suit, tank. everything else at default.”
3
Check the rest
Everything the dive didn’t record is back at its default. Go through the form and change anything that’s different this time.
Your body measurements (weight, height, age, sex and body fat) are never changed. Boots, backplate, first stage, adapter and fins go back to their defaults, because a dive doesn’t record them. If the dive has no equipment page, the note adds “this dive has no equipment page, so hood and gloves are off.”
The estimate also shows what you carried and felt on that dive, for example “dive #142 carried 6 kg and logged heavy”. That line is there to compare against, not as an input. Tap it to open the dive.
If you change the kit after this, the note shrinks to what still comes from the dive (“still from dive #142: …”), and disappears when nothing does.
Undo use this dive
The note has a restore previous kit button that puts back the kit you had before. It stays until you change the kit yourself; after that, the kit is yours and the button goes. See Estimate your weight. When nothing matches
When no dive falls in the window, the tab tells you where your record is:- “nearest: 3 dives at 28 °C” (with your own numbers): tap the line and the stepper counts to that temperature, then the dives appear.
- “none of your dives has a water temperature logged yet. add one to a dive and it shows here.” Your dives have no water temperatures Zenfinder can reach. Add a water temperature when you edit or log a dive. You also see this line when every temperature you’ve logged is outside the stepper’s range of -2 to 40 °C.
- “no dives logged yet.” Your logbook is empty. See Log a dive.
If something doesn’t load
- If your dives can’t be loaded, the tab says so and shows retry. Check your connection and tap it.
- If your equipment pages can’t be loaded, the tiles still show, but without kit pills, and a note says “couldn’t load your equipment pages, so kit isn’t shown.” Tap retry in the note.
