The paperwork page turns what you’ve already entered (your kit, rental sizes, certifications and insurance) into one English PDF for a dive shop. It tells you first whether a shop is likely to come back with questions, but it never stops you sending.

Open the paperwork page

The page is titled paperwork generator. You can reach it three ways:
  • On home with a trip ahead, tap send your paperwork (or paperwork · not ready yet). See Get ready for a trip.
  • In the menu, under planning, tap export rental list.
  • On the packing list, tap the send icon at the top right.

The verdict

The top of the page says either ready to send or not ready yet. Not ready comes with one line per gap, in this order: Insurance doesn’t count toward the verdict here, though home can still say paperwork · not ready yet because of it. See Get ready for a trip.

Fix gaps from the page

Under paperwork, three rows show where everything comes from. A row with a gap is highlighted. Tap it to fix it, and the page checks again when you come back. Only rented gear needs a size, because the PDF only prints sizes for gear the shop has to supply.

Make the PDF

1

Tap generate paperwork

The button reads building the pdf while it works.
2

Send it anyway, if you choose

If the page says not ready yet, a Send it anyway? dialog lists the gaps. Tap send anyway to make the PDF as it is, or cancel to go back and fix them. The shop may follow up about a gap.
3

Send it to the shop

What happens next depends on your phone.
The PDF opens in a preview. Use the share button there to email it, message it or save it to Files.
generate paperwork is greyed out until the page has loaded your certifications and insurance, and when there’s nothing to put in the PDF at all (no gear marked, no certification and no insurance). In that case the page tells you to add a certification or mark the gear you own and rent. If the page couldn’t read your certifications and insurance, it says so above a retry button, and generate paperwork stays off until a retry succeeds. If building the PDF fails, you’ll see could not create the paperwork. please try again.

What the PDF contains

The PDF is always in English, whatever language the app is in, because English is the working language of dive shops. The page says this under the button. It’s one A4 document with these parts, in order:
  1. Title: Equipment Rental Checklist.
  2. Name from your account, and the email address you sign in with. If you haven’t set a name, it prints “not recorded”.
  3. A short note to the shop, written as you, saying the list covers what you need to rent, what you’re bringing, and your certifications, and inviting them to get in touch.
  4. Date last dived: the most recent dive date among the 50 dives you entered last, or “not recorded”. If you imported or back-filled older dives recently, check this date before you send.
  5. Equipment table: 21 items (BCD, regulator, octopus, tank, weight belt, pressure gauge, computer, backup computer, mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, drysuit, hood, gloves, SMB, compass, lights, camera, knife, speargun), each marked own, rent or n/a. A size appears only beside rented BCD, wetsuit, drysuit, hood, gloves and fins. Fin sizes include their sizing system, for example US or EU.
  6. Certifications: name, issuing organization, ID number and issue date for each one, or “No certifications available.”
  7. Insurance: insurer, policy number and expiry date for each policy, or “No insurance information available.”
Dates print as month/day/year.
The PDF always includes your email address. Check that you’re happy for the shop to have it before you send.

What the PDF leaves out

  • Your trip’s destination and dates.
  • Photos of your certification cards.
  • Sizes for gear you own.
  • Pack-only items from your kit (certification card, nitrox card, medication) and your custom packing items.
  • Any insurance details beyond insurer, policy number and expiry, such as the plan or the insurer’s phone number, and the instructor or shop on your certifications.
  • Your logbook, apart from the last dive date.
If a shop needs to see your card, show it from Certifications and insurance.
