A trip pass gives you 30 days of unlimited questions to the travel agent, at the price shown in the app. It’s a one-time purchase that doesn’t renew, it belongs to your SCUBAzen account, and the app offers it only when you send a question and neither your free day nor a pass is running.

When the app offers a pass

There’s no store page or upgrade button for the trip pass. The trip pass sheet opens only when you tap send (or retry) and you need one: your free day is used up and no pass is running. The sheet opens with your free day has ended. or your trip pass has ended., then says what a pass is. Everything else in SCUBAzen works without a pass, and you can always read your past conversations.

Buy a pass

Send a question

Type your question and tap send. If you need a pass, the trip pass sheet opens before anything is sent.
2

Tap buy

The button reads buy followed by the price in your store’s currency. Tap it and confirm the purchase with Apple or Google.
3

Once the pass is on your account, the sheet closes and your question goes to the agent straight away.

If the payment goes through but the pass hasn’t reached your account yet, the sheet closes and the app says payment received. your pass will show here in a moment, then send your question again. Wait a moment and tap send again. If the store can’t take the purchase, the sheet says the purchase didn’t go through. try again. or the trip pass can’t be bought right now. check your connection and try again. Nothing is charged in either case. The sheet also links terms & conditions and privacy policy.

How a pass works

See how much time is left

While a pass runs, a line above the message box in any conversation shows the time left, for example trip pass · 12 days left. It counts in days, then in hours for the last two days, then in minutes for the last hour. It always rounds up, so it never shows 0. The time left is shown only on the conversation page.

Restore a purchase

Because the pass is on your account, you don’t need to restore it on a new phone: sign in and it’s there. Restore is for a purchase you paid for whose pass never arrived.
1

Open the trip pass sheet

Send a question while no pass is running. The trip pass sheet opens.
2

Tap restore a purchase

Tap restore a purchase, below the buttons. The app asks your store for this account’s purchases and adds any pass that wasn’t added yet.
If a pass is found, the sheet closes and your question sends. If not, the sheet says no trip pass was found for this account. restore a purchase is only on the trip pass sheet, which opens only when a question needs a pass. There’s no restore option in settings.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by SCUBAzen. Ask your store for one the way you would for any other purchase. If a refund is granted, SCUBAzen takes back the days that purchase added that you haven’t used yet. A pass you bought after it keeps its days, moved up to fill the gap. A refund granted after that pass’s days have already run out doesn’t change the pass you’re on now.

If you delete your account

Deleting your account removes your trip pass along with everything else. Any unused days are lost, and they can’t be restored to a new account, even one with the same email address. The free day doesn’t come back either. Nothing on the delete screen warns you about this yet.
