The gear list holds each piece of equipment you want to keep a service record for: your regulator, your BCD, your computer. Open the menu and tap gear. Each row shows the item and its next service date, marked overdue or due soon when it needs attention, so you can see what to take to the shop without opening anything.
The gear list is separate from your kit. Your kit (Your kit: own or rent) says what you bring on a trip and fills your packing list and paperwork. The gear list tracks individual pieces and their servicing. Adding gear here doesn’t mark it owned in your kit, and marking something own in your kit doesn’t add it here.

Open the list

Open the menu on home and, under diving, tap gear. The page is titled gear and the list is headed my gear. When something is due, home also says so, for example “regulator is due for service”. Tap that line to open the list.

What each row shows

  • The gear type, such as regulator or BCD.
  • The model, under it, if you entered one.
  • The next service date on the right, with a status word under it:
Gear with no next service date shows no date and no status. Rows that need attention come first: overdue items, then items due soon, then everything else. Within each group, rows are in alphabetical order. When anything is overdue or due soon, the top of the page shows how many, for example “2 services due”. When nothing is due, the top of the page is empty.

Add gear

Tap add gear at the foot of the list, or the + at the top right. See A piece of gear for the form. Tap any row to open that piece of gear, with its service history and reminders.

When the list is empty

Before you add anything, the list explains what it’s for and offers add gear. If the list can’t load, it says so and offers retry; add gear stays available.

Reminders

SCUBAzen doesn’t send push notifications. Gear whose next service date is due shows on this list and on home. Your own reminders on a gear’s page don’t. To get an alert on your phone, add the reminder to your calendar from the gear’s page.
