Each dive can record its type in two lists: environment (where the dive happened) and dive style (the kind of diving you did). Open it from the dive type row on the dive, tick everything that applies, and tap save.

Record the dive type

1

Open dive type

On the dive, scroll to the equipment section and tap the dive type row. The page is titled dive type and shows the dive number at the top.
2

Tick what applies

Tap any item in environment or dive style to tick or untick it. You can tick as many as you like in each list.
3

Save

Tap save. The page closes and you’re back on the dive.
You don’t need to tap the pencil first. The dive type row works on a saved dive in view mode too, and dive type saves on its own, separately from the dive. See View, edit or delete a dive.

The choices

Both lists are in alphabetical order.

Leave without saving

Tap the x (cancel) in the top left, or go back. If you’ve changed anything, the app asks Discard your changes?. Tap discard to leave without saving, or cancel to keep the page open. If nothing changed, it closes straight away. Nothing is stored for a dive until you tap save here.

Saving, offline and on a new dive

  • No connection: save still works. The page closes as normal and the change syncs when you’re back online.
  • Save refused: if the save is refused for another reason, the page stays open with your ticks, and a notice says it couldn’t save and that your dive is still here. Tap save again.
  • On a dive you haven’t saved yet: dive type saves straight away. If you then discard the dive, its dive type is removed with it.

Where dive type shows up

The dive’s own page doesn’t summarise its dive type; open the dive type row to see it. Logbook search doesn’t look at dive type. Deleting a dive deletes its dive type too.
