Record the gear for a dive
1
Open the checklist
On the dive, scroll to the equipment section and tap the equipment row. The page is titled equipment and shows the dive number at the top.
2
Tick what you dived with
Tap an item to tick or untick it.
3
Save
Tap save. The checklist closes and you’re back on the dive.
The 21 items
The list is in alphabetical order: backup computer, bcd, camera, compass, computer, drysuit, fins, gloves, hood, knife, lights, mask, octopus, pressure gauge, regulator, SMB, snorkel, speargun, tank, weight belt, wetsuit. What’s ticked when you open it
- First time for a dive: every item your kit marks as owned or rented is ticked, because rented gear was still dived with. Everything else starts unticked. Your kit is set in settings; see Your kit: own or rent.
- After you’ve saved it: the checklist shows exactly what you saved for that dive. Later changes to your kit don’t change it.
Leave without saving
Tap the x (cancel) in the top left, or go back. If you’ve changed anything, the app asks Discard your changes?. Tap discard to leave without saving, or cancel to keep the checklist open. If nothing changed, it closes straight away.Saving, offline and on a new dive
- No connection: save still works. The checklist closes as normal and the change syncs when you’re back online.
- Save refused: if the save is refused for another reason, the checklist stays open with your ticks, and a notice says it couldn’t save and that your dive is still here. Tap save again.
- On a dive you haven’t saved yet: the checklist saves straight away. If you then discard the dive, its checklist is removed with it.
Where the checklist is used
- Deleting a dive deletes its equipment checklist too. See View, edit or delete a dive.
- Logbook search doesn’t look at the checklist. See Browse and search your logbook.
- Zenfinder’s logbook view can show the gear from a past dive. See Your logbook as a reference.
