To log a service, open the piece of gear, tap log service, choose the service type, check the service date, and tap save. Logging a regular service also moves the gear’s next service date forward by its service interval.

Log a service

1

Open the gear

On the gear list, tap the piece of gear. If it’s new, save it first: log service appears only on saved gear.
2

Tap log service

It’s at the foot of the service history section. The form opens titled log service, with the gear’s type and model at the top.
3

Choose the service type

Pick from service type: cleaning, repair, inspection, regular service or other.
4

Check the date

service date starts as today. Tap it to pick an earlier date. It can’t be in the future.
5

Add the rest (optional)

serviced by (the shop or technician), notes, and a photo of the work order.
6

Save

Tap save at the top right. You go back to the gear’s page, where the service is at the top of its history.
Both the type and the date are required. Without them, the app says “choose a service type before saving” or “set the service date before saving”. serviced by holds up to 80 characters and notes up to 2,000. Typing stops at the limit, with no message. If you’ve already logged a service since you opened the app, the next log service form starts with that service’s type and serviced by filled in, which helps when several pieces come back from the same shop. Change them if they don’t apply. After the app restarts, the form starts empty again.

Regular service reschedules the next one

When you choose regular service on a new record, a line appears under it: “next service will be set to” a date. That date is the service date plus the gear’s service interval (1 year unless you’ve changed it on the gear’s page). Change the service date and the line updates. When you save, the gear’s next service date changes to that date. Back on the gear’s page, the next service date at the top changes to the new one. The other service types are recorded in the history but don’t change the schedule. Only a newly logged regular service moves the schedule. Editing or deleting an existing service record never changes the next service date.

Logging an older service

The reschedule always counts from the date of the service you’re saving, even if it’s older than a service you’ve already logged. If you backfill an old regular service after a newer one, the next service date moves back to match the old one, and the gear can show as overdue.
When you log regular services after the fact, enter them oldest first. If the next service date ends up wrong, open the gear, tap the pencil, and set next service yourself.

View, edit or delete a service

Tap a service in the gear’s service history to open it. The page is titled with the service type and shows the date, who did it, notes and the work order photo. Tap the photo to see it full size.
  • Edit: tap the pencil, make your changes, tap save.
  • Delete: tap the pencil, scroll to the foot, tap delete service record, then confirm with delete.
Deleting a service record removes it and its work order photo from the gear’s history. It can’t be undone, and it doesn’t change the gear’s next service date.

Offline

Saving, editing and deleting a service record work without a connection. The app tells you the change is on your phone and will sync when you’re back online. Adding a work order photo needs a connection.
