# Trip pass

> Buy a 30-day trip pass for the travel agent, see how much time is left, restore a purchase, and what refunds and account deletion do to it.

A trip pass gives you 30 days of unlimited questions to the travel agent, at the price shown in the app. It's a one-time purchase that doesn't renew, it belongs to your SCUBAzen account, and the app offers it only when you send a question and neither your free day nor a pass is running.

## When the app offers a pass

There's no store page or upgrade button for the trip pass. The **trip pass** sheet opens only when you tap **send** (or **retry**) and you need one: your [free day](/docs/travel-agent/free-day) is used up and no pass is running. The sheet opens with **your free day has ended.** or **your trip pass has ended.**, then says what a pass is. On an account whose email address already used its free day on another account, it opens with **this email address already used its free day on another account.** instead.

Everything else in SCUBAzen works without a pass, and you can always read your past conversations.

## Buy a pass

<Steps>
  <Step title="Send a question">
    Type your question and tap **send**. If you need a pass, the **trip pass** sheet opens before anything is sent.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap buy">
    The button reads **buy** followed by the price in your store's currency. Tap it and confirm the purchase with Apple or Google.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Your question sends">
    Once the pass is on your account, the sheet closes and your question goes to the agent straight away.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Tap **not now** to close the sheet without buying. Your question stays in the box.

If the payment goes through but the pass hasn't reached your account yet, the sheet closes and the app says **payment received. your pass will show here in a moment, then send your question again.** Wait a moment and tap **send** again.

If the store can't take the purchase, the sheet says **the purchase didn't go through. try again.** or **the trip pass can't be bought right now. check your connection and try again.** Nothing is charged in either case.

The sheet also links **terms & conditions**, **privacy policy**, and **how this works**, which opens this page.

## How a pass works

| | |
| - | - |
| Length | 30 days from the purchase. |
| Questions | Unlimited. There's no message count and no cut-off for heavy use. The only limit is 5 questions a minute. |
| Renewal | None. It doesn't renew, so nothing more is charged when it ends. Buy another when you need one. |
| Where it works | It's on your account, so it works on any phone you sign in on, iPhone or Android. |
| Overlap | Days are never lost to overlap. A pass added while another pass or your free day is still running starts when that one ends. |

## See how much time is left

While a pass runs, a line above the message box in any conversation shows the time left, for example **trip pass · 12 days left**. It counts in days, then in hours for the last two days, then in minutes for the last hour. It always rounds up, so it never shows 0.

Your [account](/docs/settings/account) page shows the same line under **travel agent**, or **no pass running** when there isn't one.

## Restore a purchase

Because the pass is on your account, you don't need to restore it on a new phone: sign in and it's there. Restore is for a purchase you paid for whose pass never arrived.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your account">
    In settings, tap **account** under **you**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap restore a purchase">
    Under **travel agent**, below the line that says where your pass stands, tap **restore a purchase**. The app asks your store for this account's purchases and adds any pass that wasn't added yet.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If a pass is found, the app says **your trip pass is on this account.** and the line shows the time left. If not, it says **no trip pass was found for this account.** If the store or SCUBAzen can't be reached, it says **couldn't reach the store. check your connection and try again.**

The **trip pass** sheet has the same **restore a purchase** link, below its buttons. Restored there, the sheet closes and your question sends. If nothing is found, or the store can't be reached, the sheet says so in the same words.

## Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by SCUBAzen. Ask your store for one the way you would for any other purchase.

If a refund is granted, SCUBAzen takes back the days that purchase added that you haven't used yet. A pass you bought after it keeps its days, moved up to fill the gap. A refund granted after that pass's days have already run out doesn't change the pass you're on now.

## If you delete your account

Deleting your account removes your trip pass along with everything else. Any unused days are lost, and they can't be restored to a new account, even one with the same email address. The free day doesn't come back either. The delete account page says both before you confirm.
