# SCUBAzen

> SCUBAzen is a dive trip preparation app for iOS and Android, published by
> SCUBAzen LLC dba FireBrands. SCUBAzen handles the logistics before a dive rather than during
> one: an AI travel planner that suggests dive destinations, trip planning, gear
> checklists, dive shop rental paperwork, weight and wetsuit estimates, and a
> searchable dive log. SCUBAzen is free to download.
> The logbook and packing list are free. The wetsuit estimator, weight
> estimator, and paperwork generator require a premium subscription sold in 3,
> 6, or 12 month plans.

SCUBAzen was built by Eric, a recreational diver certified in 2016, after his
paper logbook filled up and no existing dive app replaced it well. SCUBAzen is
scoped to preparation above the waterline: it does not replace a dive computer,
performs no decompression calculations, and gives no in-water guidance.

The SCUBAzen AI travel planner reads a diver's logged dives — the sites they
returned to, the water temperatures they prefer, the marine life they seek out —
and suggests dive destinations they have not yet visited. It is the one SCUBAzen
feature that draws on dive history; the weight and wetsuit estimators do not.
